Laser Rangefinders #
Handheld #
Vectronix – The Terrapin X is the industry standard handheld, but the Vector X rangefinding binoculars are where Vectronix really shines. Available in 8×42, 10×42, and 12×42 configurations, they range to 7,000 yards with Applied Ballistics Elite built-in. Premium optics combined with outstanding rangefinding capability. These are what serious long-range shooters use when they need both observation and ranging in one package.
Leica – Proven reliability in a traditional form factor. The Rangemaster CRF series has been a workhorse for precision shooters for years. Fast, accurate ranging with straightforward operation and excellent build quality. The newer models include Applied Ballistics integration, but the core appeal remains the same: German optics and dependable performance in the field. When you need a rangefinder that just works, Leica won’t let you down.
Rifle Mounted #
Envision MARS-C – Based on the MARS system used by US Special Operations Forces. Under 8 ounces with integrated Applied Ballistics solver, NIR pointer, and Bluetooth connectivity to Kestrel meters. Ranges to 2,000+ meters using a 1,550nm eye-safe laser. At $11.5k, quite out of reach for most shooters.
Maztech X4 Series – I have not had a chance to demo these yet, but they are an extremely interesting new offering at a much better price than the MARS. Available in two variants: the X4-LRF-2K (ranging to 2,180 yards with 905nm laser) and X4-LRF-15K (ranging to 16,400 yards with 1,534nm laser invisible to night vision). Both include integrated Applied Ballistics solver, onboard weather station with environmental and motion sensors, plus visible and IR aiming lasers.
Levels #
MDT Send It Gen2 – This electronic level is nearly 50% smaller than the original with up to 200 hours battery life on a CR2032. With the mounting kit and fiber optic line, you can get the LED right in your field of view while looking through the optic.
Platforms #
Badger SLICK – Sniper Lightweight Integrator Combat Kit. Purpose-built for the Leupold Mk4 spotting scope with eight mounting positions around the objective cage plus a permanently attached top rail.
